Gala Picnic Earns Top Honors

January 12, 2002

Ronkonkoma's Enchanted Parties/Event Pros Inc., a full service event planning and production company, was presented with the 2001 International Gala Award for Best Corporate/Company Picnic at a black tie awards ceremony in Phoenix this past weekend.  The company was nominated for producing Northrop Grumman’s 2001 company picnic.

Special Events Magazine recognized the “best work in the special event industry” during its 16th annual awards ceremony on the last night of the Special Event 2002 conference and trade show.

Terry Vogel, Sr. Vice President of Enchanted Parties, was the event planner for the winning event, which had been attended by 2,000 guests.  “I was delighted when I heard the news.  This is the one of the highest honors and most prestigious awards in our industry.”

Northrop Grumman, a Long Island based integrated systems manufacturer, held the award-winning picnic last summer at Belmont Race Track.  Enchanted Parties coordinated with Northrop Grumman’s Community Relations department to create a day of fun.  The theme chosen was a “Big-Top Circus” and highlights included a performance by Dondi the elephant as well as other circus performers, an authentic carousel, inflatables, carnival games, field races, circus food and various circus themed balloon décor and props.

Nominees were selected by a blue-ribbon panel of judges as well as an Advisory Board that reviewed hundreds of entries from all over the world.  Other nominees for the Best Corporate/Company Picnic award included Culinary Capers Catering, a Vancouver, BC based company, for their work on PMC Sierra’s employee picnic and D’Rose Accents from San Juan, Puerto Rico for an open house event for GlaxoSmithKline.

Enchanted Parties/Event Pros has been in business for 30 years and is family owned and operated.  The company produces more than 300 events a year ranging from corporate picnics, holiday parties, teambuilding programs, tradeshows and special events to social events such as weddings and bar and bat mitzvahs.  Enchanted Parties/Event Pros specializes in strategic event planning, design, production and management.

Winter Wonderland in Central Islip

Mr. and Mrs. Claus kicked off the holiday season by spreading joy to the students at the Early Childhood Center in the Central Islip School District.

The Claus’ came to town! The children of the Early Childhood Center in the Central Islip School District were all smiles as they had an opportunity to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas and Mrs. Claus delighted them even more by giving them cookies and candy canes to enjoy. Mr. and Mrs. Claus, known as Mr. and Mrs. Vega in their everyday life, visited the children to spread some holiday cheer. In the other half of the gym music teacher Sue Walsmey and Special Education Evaluator DJ Manfredi led the joyous students in a holiday sing-a-long, where they all sang, danced, and even signed some Christmas and Chanukah songs.
