JAMES, NY -- The Suffolk County Department of Parks, Recreation and
Conservation in conjunction with the Deepwells Farm Historic Society will
host the 16th
Annual Fall Festival,
on Saturday and Sunday, October 6th
and 7th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at
Deepwells
Farm
County
Park
in St. James.
“This
fun-filled event provides great opportunities for families to enjoy all
the traditions of the fall, harvest season,” said Suffolk County
Executive Steve Levy. “Visitors can enjoy hay and pony
rides, pumpkin decorating, live entertainment and old-fashioned
children’s games.”
Other
highlights of this year’s festival will include craft vendors, face
painting, a magic show, storytellers, a real live petting farm from
Cornell Cooperative Extension, festival food, and the always popular hay
bale fun jump. You can purchase a wide variety of foods and
merchandise including hand made crafts, pumpkins and candy from the St.
James General Store. Tours of Deepwells Farm will also be available
throughout the day.
Admission
to the festival is $5.00 for adults, $1.00 for seniors and children under
12. Parking is available in the field opposite the St. James General
Store for free. Deepwells Farm is located at the intersection of
Moriches Road
