Patti LuPone Performs with LI Philharmonic |

The Long Island Philharmonic’s 2002-2003 Pops concert features Tony and Oliver Award winning actress/singer Patti LuPone, starring in her new concert "COULDA, WOULDA, SHOULDA," on Friday, October 4, 2002 at 8:00 p.m. at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville. LuPone will be performing songs from musicals which she could have played, should have played, did play and will play. The list of shows includes Hair, Bye Bye Birdie, Funny Girl, West Side Story and Peter Pan and, of course, from her award winning performances in Evita and Anything Goes. LuPone, who can currently be seen opposite Robert DeNiro in the feature film "City By The Sea," most recently starred in a concert production of "A Little Night Music" at the Ravinia Festival, filmed a role on the upcoming season of the HBO series "Oz," and starred in the hit Broadway revival of Michael Frayn’s "Noises Off." Last February she returned to Carnegie Hall, where she had debuted two years earlier, to perform a full-length version of the upcoming Tilles Concert. Her most recent CD features music from a second theatrical concert "Matters of the Heart" which she has performed throughout the country. She was awarded the Outer Critics Circle Award for her concert series"Patti LuPone On Broadway," An accomplished veteran performers of numerous award winning productions she was a member of the first class of the Drama Division of New York’s Juilliard School. Rob Fisher (Conductor/Musical Director) has been music director of the much honored Encores! series at City Center since its inception in 1994. In 1998 Fisher performed twice at the White House for the Clintons as part of the PBS series, In Performance at the White House. The second program, The Singer and the Song, featured Patti LuPone. As musical director for Patti LuPone he has appeared on many stages including conducting her last sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall. As guest conductor, he has led orchestras across the country including Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and the Virginia Symphony in his hometown of Norfolk. He has made twenty-five recordings.
